Heated Dog Beds

Heated Dog Beds – Let Your Dog Sleep in Warmth!

When it get cold at night, you do what comes naturally to get warm: you just turn up the heat. (You may also put on an extra sweater, bring out the long johns, put on heavier blanket on the beds, or throw more logs into the fireplace).
How can your pet sleep in cold weather? Even if your pet lives indoors with you, just turning up the thermostat may not be enough. And if you keep your house extra cool, or if your dog lives outdoors in the kennel, garage, porch, barn or outside dog house, there’s a solution: heated dog beds.
Heated dog beds allow you to control the temperature of the dog bed so your pet can enjoy a warm place when it goes to sleep during the winter indoors or outdoors. They usually come with thermostats and AC power adaptors. Other heated dog beds may have heating pads that can be heated in the microwave. Some heating units are removable allowing you to use the bed in warmer weather as well.
In addition to keeping your dog warm in cold weather, heated dog beds are great for young puppies that have been recently weaned from their mothers. These beds give them the extra security and warmth that they miss from being separated from their mothers. Older dogs with arthritis, back and joint problems may also find extra comfort, healing warmth and relief from pain sleeping on these heated dog beds.
There are many kinds of heated dog beds. Most of them fit in one of the five categories:
1)    Large Heating Pads – A large pad with a heating unit which you can put in the outdoor dog house/kennel, or even use indoors, which will help your pet stay warm in any kind of cold weather.
2)    Bed Warmers – A small heating pad that can be placed under your pet’s favorite bed – without having to buy a new dog bed.
3)    Microwave Pads – A small pad the size of a Frisbee that can be heated in the microwave and placed under your pet’s favorite bed (up to 12 hours warm) – no electric cords to worry about.
4)    Heated Ortho Dog Beds – An orthopedic bed for older pets needing extra body support along with the heat.
5)    Self-Warming Dog Beds – Using space-age technology, let the dog’s own body heat warm up the pad and stay warm!
In selecting the best heated dog beds, you’ll want to start with three questions: Will it meet my pet’s unique needs? Is it made sturdy from quality materials? & Will it complement my home?
Finally, you’ll want to pay special attention to the safety features of the heated dog beds since they use electricity and have power cords.  Is the heating unit well-hidden so your pet won’t ever be accidently harmed by it? Are the power cords well wrapped in steel or wire so your dog can’t chew through it? Is the thermostat easy to use, and is the timer reliable?  When looking for the best heated dog beds for your pets, you’ll want to make sure the model you select has addressed these and other safety issues.

When the weather gets cold, do what smart and savvy pet owners do. Get your pets heated dog beds. It’ll keep them warm and comfortable, protect them from the cold and allow them to sleep in peace!

After a good night, they’ll be refreshed and ready to spend another wonderful day with you, their best human friend!
